The Value of Apprentices in the North East Roofing Industry
North East Roofing specialists, DVC Roofing, are highlighting the importance of apprenticeships within the roofing industry.
Callum Van Cliff, 16, began his apprenticeship with DVC back in October 2014. In partnership with the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board), Callum is now working towards a City & Guilds Award in Roofing.
With in-house training on site and block release studies at Newcastle College, Callum has settled into his role well and is fast becoming part of the team.
Pauline Davies, Business Manager at Durham Roofing company DVC, said:
“Delivering the best skills is a crucial part of DVC’s long-term economic plan. More apprenticeships mean more opportunities for young people, giving them financial security and the roofing industry a chance of a better future.”
North East Roofing specialists DVC Roofing are extremely passionate about employing young people with the right attitude and skills for the roofing industry.
We are keen to invest back into our local area and the North East roofing sectors, and supporting apprenticeships similar to Callum’s is something we will be continuing in the future.
