DVC Roofing recently completed a 2300m2 roof replacement for the NHS Centre in Cleveland, delivering a durable solution with the Alumasc roofing system. As well as the full roof replacement, we also upgraded the building’s insulation to comply with current regulations and standards.

This project involved removing the existing, ageing single-ply roof and replacing it with a modern, weatherproof Alumasc built-up felt system that ensures long-term protection for the facility. By utilising a system known for its sustainability and performance, DVC Roofing has provided the NHS Centre with the most up-to-date, robust defence against the elements.
The project didn’t come without challenges, we encountered several challenges when coordinating our operations as we had to ensure safety and minimise disruption.
This required meticulous planning, as we had to consider the safety of not only the staff but also the public since the building was in constant use throughout the project. The on-site multi-storey car park only added to the complexity, especially with transporting materials to the site. To overcome this, a Bocker hoist was used to load materials efficiently without causing disruption to the car park.
As long-term durability was one of the main aims for this project, we utilised an Alumasc Derbigum Olivine system to ensure that the new roof can withstand the worst that Mother Nature can throw at it. This high-performance roofing system offers numerous benefits that make it an ideal choice for both commercial and industrial applications. One of its standout features is its environmental impact, as the olivine granules absorb and neutralise CO2, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions over the roof’s lifetime. It provides exceptional waterproofing capabilities, ensuring long-lasting protection against weather elements, and is also highly durable, resulting in an extended lifespan of up to 50 years.
