We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join DVC Roofing and take responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the business. This is an important role within the company, supporting strong financial control, informed decision-making and continued business growth.
Job Description:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the business, ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, effective cash flow management and full statutory compliance. The role will also provide clear financial insight to support informed business and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with senior management and key departments, the Finance Manager will oversee the finance function across the business, maintaining robust financial processes and governance while supporting the company’s continued growth and long-term financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts.
- Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Monitor profitability by company, department and project.
- Analyse financial performance and report key trends.
- Produce board reports with financial commentary.
- Monitor gross profit margins and overhead expenditure.
- Recommend improvements to profitability and efficiency.
Cash Flow Management
- Maintain rolling 12-week cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor daily cash position.
- Optimise working capital.
- Manage banking relationships.
- Ensure supplier payments are made appropriately.
- Monitor debtor days and support credit control.
- Protect business liquidity.
Financial Reporting
- Produce monthly profit and loss accounts.
- Prepare balance sheets.
- Prepare cash flow statements.
- Complete management reporting packs.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset register.
- Ensure all financial records remain accurate.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts.
- Report budget variances.
- Recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Assist department managers with budget ownership.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
- Oversee VAT returns.
- Oversee CIS returns.
- Manage corporation tax information for external accountants.
- Ensure Companies House deadlines are met.
- Maintain compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Support year-end audit preparation.
Purchase Ledger
- Supervise supplier invoices.
- Approve payment runs.
- Monitor supplier statements.
- Resolve invoice queries.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships.
Sales Ledger
- Monitor customer invoicing.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Improve debt collection performance.
- Reduce overdue debt.
- Support commercial teams with payment disputes.
Payroll
- Oversee payroll process.
- Ensure PAYE compliance.
- Manage pension contributions.
- Monitor holiday accruals.
- Ensure payroll accuracy.
Internal Controls
- Develop financial procedures.
- Improve internal controls.
- Reduce financial risk.
- Ensure segregation of duties.
- Monitor authorisation processes.
- Protect company assets.
Business Support
Provide financial support to:
- CEO
- Directors
- Operational Managers
- Estimating Department
- Commercial Team
- HR Department

Experience:
- Finance Management: 5 years’ experience (required)
