Q&A: Highlighting Natalie’s Achievement
1.What motivated you to join the Step into Management programme?
I knew that stepping into a management role would require new skills, and I wanted to feel confident, prepared, and equipped to support both my team and DVC Commercial Roofing. I also wanted to develop professionally and push myself beyond my comfort zone.
2.What was the most valuable thing you learned during the programme?
The biggest takeaway from the programme was understanding what it truly means to be a manager and having the skills to support and motivate my team effectively.
3.How has the programme helped your professional growth?
This programme has equipped me with essential skills and knowledge to transition effectively into a management role. It enhanced my understanding of leadership, team dynamics, decision-making, and strategic planning, enabling me to manage people and projects more efficiently. Learning practical management techniques and best practices means I can take on greater responsibilities, contribute more significantly to DVC Commercial Roofing, and accelerate my career progression toward leadership positions.
4.What challenges did you overcome during the course?
The main challenge was shifting my focus from my own work to managing and leading a team. Through exercises and feedback, I gained confidence in delegating, resolving conflicts, and making strategic decisions—skills that are already enhancing my professional growth.
5.What are you most proud of from this journey?
This course has been extremely beneficial. Even though I was sceptical at the beginning, it’s provided me with skills I’ll carry forward throughout my career. For anyone entering management, I highly recommend this course. It really prepares you and gives you the tools to thrive in your management journey.
6.What’s next for you after completing this programme?
Recharging my batteries and getting ready for whatever challenges 2026 brings my way!
