How did we fix this commercial roof?
We completed our initial inspection of the building and discovered that one roof had been completely blown off by the storm, leading to further damage to an adjacent unit. As well as this, we found that the existing cap sheet contained asbestos, necessitating the engagement of a specialist asbestos removal contractor. It was clear that the current system was no longer offering suitable protection for the building, and the damage that it had sustained was starting to impact the business.
Following discussions with both the tenant and the client, we knew we had to fix this commercial roof with a full commercial roof repair or replacement.
Understanding that the business was still in operation, our team prioritised getting the work done with as little disruption as possible while also prioritising the safety of everyone on site. With this in mind, we coordinated closely with the asbestos removal specialist, the client, and the tenant to ensure safe and compliant asbestos removal.
After the removal of the asbestos and the old roof, we fix this commercial roof by installing a new Alumasc 3-layer felt system that is designed to be durable and withstand extreme weather conditions.
