DVC Commercial Roofing Contractors carried out a complete roof renewal using IKO Armourplan Flat Roofing in Maryport Cumbria. The required work consisted of stripping off to the existing substrate and completing a full new roof build-up for MITIE work, maintaining absolute Health and Safety Compliance.
IKO Armourplan Flat Roofing
The existing roof was a single ply roofing membrane that had not been fitted correctly. There wasn’t the correct field and perimeter ties, which consequently allowed the system to become loose and eventually blew off, as seen below. This is a common issue with single-ply membranes if they have not been fitted correctly and to the manufacturer’s specifications.

DVC Commercial Roofing stripped off the existing roof single-ply membrane and insulation down to the existing concrete substrate and removed it all from the site.
We supplied a new Vapour Control Layer, and 140mm ridged board insulation bonded to the VCL. The waterproofing system we used was IKO Armourplan Single Ply roof membrane fully adhered. All perimeter trim used was IKO Armourplan trim allowing a full hot air weld to perimeter and laps of membrane.
This roof will now be signed off by IKO Technical team to ensure that work has been carried out to specification and the quality of workmanship has been carried to a high standard.
