DVC Commercial Roofing Contractors Head Of Business Growth

5 minutes with Sukanya: DVC Commercial Roofing Head of Business Growth

DVC Commercial Roofing Contractors

At DVC Commercial Roofing Contractors, strong relationships and long-term partnerships are at the heart of our continued growth. In this Q&A, we sit down with Sukanya, our Head of Business Growth to gain insight into the role, day-to-day responsibilities, and what it takes to build meaningful connections within the construction industry. From networking and client engagement to advice for those looking to follow a similar career path, this offers a behind-the-scenes look at how business growth is driven at DVC Roofing.

1.Can you tell us about your role as Head of Business Growth at DVC Roofing?

My role at DVC Commercial Roofing focuses on bringing in new clients while nurturing and developing relationships with existing ones. I help identify and pass new project opportunities to our estimating team so we can submit tenders, and I also attend meetings, events, and networking opportunities to support ongoing business growth.

2.What does a typical day look like for you in this role?

A typical day varies depending on client meetings and events. When I’m out on the road, I also drop off brochures to industrial units in the surrounding areas. If I’m not travelling, I focus on reaching out to potential new clients via social media and staying on top of administrative tasks.

3.What part of your role do you enjoy the most?

The part of the role I enjoy most is building strong connections with new people and developing genuine relationships. I enjoy understanding different businesses, identifying potential synergies between companies, and exploring how we can add value to one another. Seeing those relationships grow into long-term partnerships is especially rewarding.

4.What advice would you give to someone aspiring to a similar role?

In construction, my main advice would be to focus on building relationships and maintaining a good reputation — people work with people they trust. Take the time to understand how projects come together, from early enquiries through to delivery, and don’t be afraid to ask questions or learn from others with more experience. Being reliable, consistent, and approachable goes a long way in this industry.

For my role specifically, I’d say communication and organisation are key. You need to be proactive, follow up properly, and manage your time well between meetings, networking, and admin. Most importantly, be genuine when building relationships, understanding a client’s needs and adding value naturally leads to long-term opportunities.
