We are excited to welcome Belle to the DVC team as our new Accounts Assistant. She will be part of the financial team to help manage everything finance-related, from invoices and statements to payroll and budgeting.
About Belle
Belle is 20 years old and from Consett. Her passion for math, problem solving, and finance started as soon as she was introduced to numbers. She enjoys organising messy spreadsheets, following up on missing invoices, and ensuring all financial records are accurately accounted for. Whether it is reviewing supplier statements or sending quick and friendly reminders to get what is needed, Belle is all about sorting things before they become real issues.
Before joining DVC, Belle worked in various finance roles at Balfour Beatty. Prior to that, she worked at Sage in an ICT role. While she is already familiar with the construction industry, the roofing side is new to her, but she is picking things up quickly!
We interviewed Belle to learn more about her:
What professional achievement are you proud of?
I completed my AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting earlier this year. I’m now looking forward to starting Level 4 and plan to study for further qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA.
What attracted you to DVC and the role?
I love being a valuable part of a team and contributing behind the scenes. This role gives me the opportunity to develop my financial skills in all areas, and working with a really supportive team makes it all the more rewarding.
What is something interesting or surprising about you?
I’m Grade 8 in piano – that’s diploma level! I’ve been playing since I was 5.
What are you most excited about in this new role?
This role really stood out to me because, instead of being just a small cog in a massive company, I get to be the whole machine. As a dedicated finance person, I have the opportunity to take on a wide range of responsibilities. The small, close-knit, family-like team really appealed to me – it means I can make a real impact. I love being able to take charge of processes, streamline how things are done, and introduce improvements that make everything more efficient.
What do you like about the DVC Roofing team?
There’s a great balance here. People have a laugh, but they also get the job done. I really appreciate that the work I do helps make things run smoothly for the rest of the team.
