Project Overview
A luxury spa resort in Lancashire aimed to enhance its guest offerings by developing new outdoor leisure spaces. To realise this vision, the main contractor sought the expertise of DVC Roofing to deliver a customised roofing solution capable of supporting various landscaped features atop a newly constructed concrete deck.
Scope of Work
DVC Roofing was commissioned to install the Bauder Total Roof System (BTRS), a fully bonded waterproofing solution celebrated for its durability and longevity. Recognising the challenge of ensuring proper drainage on a flat concrete surface, our team designed and implemented a tapered insulation system to create effective falls, facilitating optimal water runoff.
To accommodate the resort’s desire for luxurious outdoor amenities, we enhanced the BTRS with additional fleece layers and robust drainage reservoirs filled with specialised mediums. This bespoke approach provided a solid foundation for the main contractor to seamlessly integrate various landscaping elements directly onto the roofing system.
Challenges and Solutions
The project was scheduled during the winter months, presenting challenges such as unpredictable and adverse weather conditions. Drawing upon our extensive experience and proactive planning, we implemented strategic measures to mitigate weather-related disruptions.
