Ensuring John Rylands University Library is kept watertight
DVC Commercial Roofing contractors are delighted to announce that we have been appointed by J Greenwoods Ltd to complete the roofing works on John Rylands University Library, at the University of Manchester.
John Rylands Library is the home of unique special collections and promotes world-leading research. It is known in the UK as the national research library in the north. Working as the main commercial roofing contractor, our team will be completing the refurbishment to ensure the library is kept watertight.
Appreciating the library is in working use and a pivotal part of the University of Manchester, it’s our priority to work with minimal disruption.
The roof refurbishment work is scheduled to start in February. The proposal of works is in keeping with the current architecture of the building and includes a mix of asphalt strip and overlay. Our team will install over 3700 SQM of flat and tapered Bauder Total Roof System PLUS over 14 roof areas. The BTRS plus system has a service life in excess of 35 years. The works are to be completed within a 19-week program.
